Last week’s episode of The Walking Dead hit new levels on the WTF?!? meter as Lizzie stabbed her sister Mika and then Carol put a bullet in Lizzie’s brain. How would the AMC drama follow that up while also setting the table for next week’s season 4 finale? Well, we just found out. [SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead.]
The episode started with Glenn showing off his best Carl Lewis impression, going into a full sprint down the railroad tracks after seeing the message left by Maggie in walker blood telling him to go to Terminus. He and a hobbled Tara eventually split from Abraham, Eugene and Rosita to walk through a darkened, zombie-infested tunnel the other three wanted no part of. They appeared poised to make it through until a large rock fell on Tara’s foot, trapping her. The duo appeared doomed until who should come to their rescue but Maggie, Sasha, and Bob (along with Abraham’s crew, who returned in a super stinky minivan). Then: a big hug. Awwwwwwww. Reunited and it feels so good! The group then arrived at Terminus, with flowers blooming, crops growing, a hot grill, and a woman named Mary to greet them and offer them a plate of food. Seems almost too good to be true. So is it?
Meanwhile, Daryl was busy getting to know the new band of marauders he had taken up with and their unique brand of rules — rules like the fact that you need to “claim” anything that you want (kind of like a post-zombie apocalypse version of yelling “SHOTGUN!” for the front seat). Oh, another rule apparently is not to plant half of a dead rabbit in someone else’s bag, as Len found out the hard way. But little did Daryl know his new group was hunting none other than Rick Grimes.
And then there was Rick himself, who in a brief scene looked way too happy watching Carl and Michonne depleting the crew’s chocolate supply and taking way too long walking on the rails even though they were running out of water.
What are your initial thoughts of Terminus? Glad to see Glenn and Maggie back together? Think marauder Joe is a good leader? And what do you believe will happen in next week’s season finale? Hit the message boards to weigh in and stay tuned for our full recap going up soon.
