While some families take their mom out to dinner or buy her jewelry and chocolates for Mother’s Day, Kandy Noad‘s family bought her a boob job. Now, one year later, she claims the plastic surgery has changed her life for the better.
Kandy Noad, 35, was extremely unhappy with her body after having four children. Her 34AA breasts, especially, made her feel self-conscious. Kandy even referred to them as “shriveled sacks.”
When Kandy found out a friend of hers was going for a plastic surgery consultation, she was extremely jealous. The friend suggested Kandy at least go for a consultation to see if it were something she would want, so she did. Coincidentally, it was just a few weeks before Mother’s Day.
After the consultation, Kandy called her husband because she was so excited about the possibility of fixing her “sacks” that she couldn’t fathom the idea of not getting it done. The couple then reached out to their parents to help pay for the surgery, and on Mother’s Day 2013 Kandy went under the knife. When she woke up, she had her “dream” figure.
“I take pride in how I look now, and I managed to slim down purely because I’m not comfort eating and I love life,” Kandy told the Daily Mail about life after her boob job.
One year after getting the plastic surgery that changed her life, Kandy is happier than ever. She no longer feels self-conscious when shopping with her two adolescent daughters, and she gets to wear sexy lingerie for her husband.
“I love buying nice lingerie and now own 30 bikinis – something I’d never have worn before, and because I have so much more confidence it’s been great for my relationship with Darren too,” Kandy shared.
Kandy also shares that she no longer has to be jealous of other women, because she finally got to drop her tomboy attire.
“I was like a tomboy before but now I can wear the booblicious dresses I always used to envy other girls in,” Kandy explained excitedly.
While some people disagree with plastic surgery, it seems like Kandy really has changed her life for the better. Good for her!

Americans have until the end of Monday to sign up for health insurance on the Obamacare exchanges for 2014. However, those that start their applications but run into technical trouble that prevents them from picking a plan Monday will have a grace period to complete the process. Their coverage will begin May 1.
Applicants ran into problems midday Monday when a technical issue temporarily blocked new users from creating accounts and picking plans. More than 100,000 people were using healthcare.gov at the same time, said a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services.
Those visiting the site were told to wait to apply for coverage. They were also given the option to receive an email telling them when they could return to the site.
The federal exchange saw a record volume of visitors on Monday, with 1.2 million visits through noon and more than 125,000 users on the site at the peak.
States running their own exchanges are also reporting a surge of interest. California's exchange was also running sluggishly on Monday as it saw many visitors. Golden State residents who don't finish the process have until April 15 to pick a plan, said Covered California Executive Director Peter Lee.
More than 6 million people have signed up for coverage nationwide, as of Thursday, so the final figure will likely approach the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office's initial projection of 7 million.
Related: Obamacare's amazing comeback
Those that don't will have to pay a penalty of $95, or 1% of income, whichever is greater. For someone earning $50,000, that translates into a $399 fine for 2014.
But many questions surround the initial year of Obamacare individual mandate. CNNMoney looks at what we know and what we don't.
1. How many people will enroll through the exchanges?
The Obama administration is releasing the number of people who have picked plans, but that doesn't mean they are fully enrolled. That only happens after the first month's premium has been paid. Insurers say that payment rates have been in the 80% range, though it's been creeping up in recent weeks. Those who don't pay are dropped from coverage.
Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told an Oklahoma TV station Monday that insurers are reporting that between 80% and 90% have paid.
So if only 85% of those 6 million pay for the policies, it means enrollment is actually 5.1 million.
2. Are the young and healthy signing up?
Many are watching how many young adults are signing up for coverage because they tend to be healthier than older enrollees.
The thinking is that their premiums will offset the higher claims generated by older, sicker policy holders.
As of February, 25% of applicants were between age 18 and 34.
But what's really important is how closely enrollment tracks insurers' projections. This is critical since insurers will base their 2015 premiums in large part on the number and health of the enrollees.
Some may have low balled their prices in hopes of attracting applicants, while others may have misjudged the market. They will likely have to hike premiums more than insurers who priced their policies more accurately.
Share your story: Have you begun using your Obamacare benefits?
3. What about those buying individual policies directly from insurers?
This is an important, but overlooked market. Insurers are continuing to sell policies to Americans off the Obamacare exchanges.
Insurers interviewed say that those signing up off-exchange tend to be younger than those coming through the exchanges. This is important since insurers' risk pools -- and 2015 premium prices -- will be based on enrollees across both groups.
4. How many of the uninsured will gain coverage?
Health reform's main goal is to reduce the ranks of the uninsured. It remains to be seen how many of America's 45 million uninsured will be covered in 2014 thanks to Obamacare.
On the flip side, a new Rand survey shows that fewer than 1 million people who had individual coverage in 2013 are now uninsured, in part because their plans may have been terminated.
5. Do Obamacare policies cost more?
It depends on whom you ask.
Many of those who had bare-bones policies with high deductibles and minimal coverage are likely shelling out more for their premiums, unless they qualify for federal subsidies.
Obamacare policies are far more comprehensive, providing for mental health, medications and maternity care, among other benefits. Also, since no one can be rejected, even if they have a pre-existing condition, insurers have had to price their plans assuming those with chronic conditions will apply.
But others are thrilled to be able to sign up for coverage for the first time in years. Until now, many Americans with pre-existing conditions could only obtain super-pricey policies ... if they were lucky. Usually, they were deemed "uninsurable."
6. Can I keep my doctor?
President Obama had promised people would get to keep their doctors, but the promise hasn't been kept.
Most insurers have purposely limited the number of doctors in their plans to keep premium costs down. Many Americans are outraged that they can't keep their doctors, while others are upset that they can't find providers nearby.
The administration has said it will review insurers' policies for 2015 more closely to make sure everyone has access to a doctor "without unreasonable delay."
7. What does Obamacare mean for employer-sponsored plans?
The requirement that companies provide insurance to their staff has been pushed off to 2015 for employers with more than 100 workers and to 2016 for those with the equivalent of between 50 and 99 employees.
Still, some employers are starting to make changes to their health insurance offerings ahead of this employer mandate, as well as some big tax levies that loom in 2018 for companies with so-called Cadillac plans. Experts say workers should prepare to foot more of their health costs in coming years.
8. Is Obamacare costing jobs?
The jury is out on this one.
There are lots of anecdotes of companies cutting jobs or reducing hours so they avoid being subject to Obamacare. And some firms, such as Target, are telling part-timers to get coverage on the exchanges.
But economists remain split over whether healthcare reform is having an impact yet. Some say Obamacare will prompt employers to slow expansion or trim staffs, while others say hiring depends demand.
On the flip side, the Congressional Budget Office projected that some people will want to work less because of Obamacare. It could reduce the labor force by the equivalent of 2.5 million workers in 2024. The reason: More people will likely opt to reduce their hours, or leave the workforce entirely, so they stay under the income caps for Medicaid and federal subsidies.
9. Are many people signing up for Medicaid?
Nearly 9 million people had signed up for Medicaid through state agencies and state exchanges sites between October and February.
But the Medicaid data is even squishier than the exchange enrollment statistics. The 9 million figure does not include people signing up through the federal exchange, which has had problems referring Medicaid applications to state agencies.
But it does include people who are simply renewing their applications, as well as people who were eligible before health care reform. Officials don't know how many people who were newly eligible due to Medicaid expansion have taken advantage of it. About half of states have agreed to expand the government health insurance program for the poor.
There is no open enrollment period for Medicaid. People can sign up anytime during the year.

On the eve of the deadline to sign up for Covered California, many were still rushing to enroll on Saturday, despite significant warning that the date was approaching.
Watch report: Covered California registration deadline approaches
In Sacramento County, a nonprofit organization called Sacramento Covered is helping people during the last-chance enrollment days.
The deadline to enroll for Covered California is Monday at 11:59 p.m.
Jorge Estrada waited in line to enroll in Covered California. He is currently uninsured.
“I've been lucky,” said Estrada.
Sitting patiently, waiting for his turn, the 30-year-old construction worker told KCRA 3 that he has never had a serious illness and had not seen a doctor in years.
Sacramento Covered helped people like Estrada enroll for health care under Covered California.
“There are those who started and need help understanding the plans," said Joil Xiolg, Sacramento Covered director of operations. "There are those who haven't started and need that in-person, face-to-face connection."
After two hours of waiting, Estrada's name was called. He said that he believes having health insurance will mean having a safety net for the first time.
“It's always good to have a backup plan," Estrada said. "Now, I'll have one."
For people who have made it to a certain point in the application process, the deadline will be extended until April 15 to allow people to complete the application.
Those who do not sign up will likely face a tax penalty.
Actress Kate O'Mara, best known for her role in the 1980s soap opera "Dynasty," has died at the age of 74.
Her agent Phil Belfield said O'Mara died Sunday in a nursing home in southern England after a short illness.
The actress, who began her television career in the 1960s, became a household name for playing Alexis Colby's scheming sister Cassandra "Caress" Morrell in "Dynasty." She also appeared in the original run of British series "Doctor Who" and BBC drama "Howards' Way."
In the 1990s she starred in the comedy show "Absolutely Fabulous" with Joanna Lumley.
PLYMOUTH - The nephew who allegedly shot his uncle while both were in the funeral cortege for the family matriarch opened fire while the procession was on Route 3 in Duxbury to protect himself, the nephew’s attorney said today.
Gai Scott appeared in Plymouth District Court today to face a charge of armed assault with intent to murder. A not-guilty plea was entered on his behalf by attorney Jon Ciraulo. Scott, 36, of Randolph is accused of shooting his uncle, Raymond E. Scott, 48, a rapper and reality star known by the stage name of Benzino.
“When the dust settles, this case will be shown to be self-defense,’’ Ciraulo said.
Gai Scott was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing requested by Plymouth District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz’s office.
The bizarre incident took place on Route 3 South on Saturday.
Raymond Scott told the Globe Sunday from his bed at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth that he did not intend to attend his mother’s funeral in order to avoid trouble stemming from a festering family feud.
“I looked over, there was a car, and all I saw was a gun shooting at me,” Scott said in a telephone interview. He would not identify who shot him by name, but said the assailant fired seven or eight shots at him.
Scott was discharged from the hospital shortly after 11 a.m. today and could not immediately be reached to respond to the assertions by his nephew’s defense attorney that he had acted in defense. But Scott’s long-time attorney, Martin K. Leppo, responded on the elder Scott’s behalf.
“Six shots into Ray Scott’s car, and he chased him on the highway,’’ said Leppo, a veteran criminal and civil attorney. “That doesn’t sound like self-defense to me.’’
Leppo also insisted that Scott had decided against attending the funeral for his mother, Mary Scott, and was enroute to pickup a friend in Plymouth when he chanced upon the funeral entourage. He also said that tension between branches of the Scott family stemmed from Raymond Scott’s belief that his mother’s property and finances were misused by his sister’s family.
Scott grew up in Dorchester and was part of a rap group that infuriated Boston police officers in the early 1990s for an anti-police rap. He was a founder of the rap magazine, The Source. Scott is a cast member of the VH1 reality show ‘‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” and is chief executive of Hip-Hop Weekly..
The Plymouth district attorney’s office has said Scott was shot twice by his nephew, Gai Scott, as the two drove through Duxbury.
Maureen Scott, who is Raymond Scott’s sister and Gai Scott’s mother, was struggling after losing her mother and having her son arrested, according to her attorney, Christopher B. Coughlin. Coughlin, who is also representing Gai Scott, dismissed comments from the elder Scott as self-promotion.
“My client and his family, including Maureen [Scott] vehemently deny any accusations that Benzino is making,’’ Coughlin said today. “I would suggest that he [the uncle] has an agenda in utilizing and self-promoting at this time.’’
Coughlin said Gai Scott is a licensed gun owner and that he does not believe Scott will be ordered held without bail after the dangerousness hearing Wednesday in the Plymouth courthouse. “We don’t think that our client is a threat to anyone.’’
After being shot in the upper arm and back, Raymond Scott said, he stopped the car, got out, and ran away. A moment later, another relative driving in the procession stopped to pick him up, then brought him to the Duxbury police station.
Raymond Scott is perhaps best known as the former co-owner of The Source, once a widely read and influential hip-hop magazine. His career has also been marred by a series of lawsuits and brushes with the law.
Scott left The Source in 2006 amid a swirl of controversy that included a multimillion-dollar lawsuit by former editor-in-chief Kimberly Osorio alleging harassment and discrimination, according to news reports at the time.
A song Scott wrote in the early 1990s drew the ire of the Boston police union, which said his song, “One in the Chamba”, advocated violence against police, according to Globe reports from the time.
In 1999, the Globe reported that Scott sued Braintree police officers and number of others for civil rights violations and slander after being detained on suspicion of using a stolen credit card at a Macy’s store. He lost. In 2001, he publicly accused a Miami Beach police officer who had arrested him for speeding in his Ferrari of racism and brutality, according to news reports. Court records show he also spent several years embroiled in a federal tax case, before a US District Court jury in Boston found him not guilty in 2007.

We never thought we’d see Mark Wahlberg be so playful, but we guess that’s part of the gig when you decide to host the Kids’ Choice Awards! He did a way better job than we could have ever expected, and the 20,000 gallons of slime at the KCAs were definitely put to good use. Read on for all the highlights from the 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards, including a transcript of Selena’s beautiful acceptance speech for Favorite Female Singer!
1. We have to admit that we assumed Mark’s t-shirt-and-jeans combo was only supposed to last for about five minutes before he’d get slimed and then he’d change into a more appropriate outfit. But, the KCAs were full of surprises! At the top of the show, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Pharrell Williams taunted Mark for his so-called unslimeability — and Mark was right (at the time), because Kaley got slimed instead! Not only was it actually unexpected, but, well… Kaley’s awards show looks are usually killer, but this one was not so much. The slime needed to happen. (Sorry, Rebecca Minkoff. Can’t win ‘em all.)
2. When Selena Gomez accepted the award for Favorite Female Singer, she gave such a beautiful acceptance speech that she not only nearly made herself cry, but almost made us cry, too! Especially in light of all the recent drama surrounding her (namely: a rehab stint and Justin Bieber‘s general existence), it was so sweet to see her so happy about her award. Her full speech:
“Thank you so much. This has been such an amazing year already for me and I just have to say that you guys have been the most loyal, dedicated people in my life, because you continuously, every year, bless me with the opportunity to do what I love, so thank you so much. You guys are awesome, and this is for you. So, thank you.”
3. Cody Simpson and Austin Mahone got slimed simultaneously! KCA fans got to vote during the show on whether Cody, Austin, or both should get slimed. To be totally honest, we kind of expected the teen heartthrob with the worst publicist to lose (because who wants to get slimed?! Not us!), but nope! Both of the handsome boys got slimed! And did they ever. Truly, no one is safe at the Kids’ Choice Awards.
4. We loved seeing Mark Wahlberg finally getting slimed! OK, so it’s obvious that this was going to happen, but hey! The show is for kids! You think kids don’t like seeing grown men get slimed? We like seeing grown men get slimed! Kevin Hart, along with Mark’s kids, were in on the joke that saw a veritable river of slime fall from the ceiling onto Mark’s head. And if you’re not a Mark Wahlberg fan? Well, just think about how he’s going to be cleaning green slime from behind his ears for the next century or so.
What did you think of the Kids’ Choice Awards, HollywoodLifers? What was your favorite moment of the night? Let us know!

Sorry Brent Musburger - Katherine Webb is off the market.
The beautiful 24-year-old brunette model is engaged to long-time boyfriend AJ McCarron, 23, a former University of Alabama quarterback headed for May's NFL draft.
“WE’RE ENGAGEDDD!!!” the former Miss Alabama tweeted Friday evening, under a picture of the happy couple hugging and smiling, a massive ring prominently displayed on the quarterback’s left shoulder.
She tweeted a second photo of the stunning diamond ring up-close, bragging “He designed it himself.”
The bombshell gained notoriety nationally after ESPN/ABC commentator Brent Musburger spotted her in the crowd during the 2013 BCS National Championship Game and noted what a “beautiful” woman McCarron was dating.
“You quarterbacks get all the good-looking women,” Musburger joked with booth partner Kirk Herbstreit, a former QB himself.
McCarron won two national titles as Alabama’s starting quarterback and finished second in the Heisman trophy race in December 2013.
Despite his stellar college career, scouts have mixed feelings on how McCarron's games will translate to the pros.
McCarron and Webb began dating in 2012 - after the model graduated from interstate rival Auburn University.

BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — Reality TV star Benzino was injured after being shot by his nephew on a Massachusetts highway Saturday while riding in a funeral procession for a family member, according authorities and Benzino's hip-hop magazine.
Benzino, whose real name is Raymond Scott, is a cast member of the VH1 reality show "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" and CEO of Hip-Hop Weekly. The magazine confirmed on its website Saturday night that Benzino had been shot.
The 48-year-old Benzino was traveling on Route 3 south of Boston just before noon when 36-year-old Gai Scott pulled alongside and fired several shots into a red SUV driven by Benzino, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office said in a statement. Officials say there had been growing tension between the two.
Benzino, of Mansfield, Mass., got out of the SUV after being struck and was taken by a passerby to the Duxbury Police Department and then transferred to a hospital.
Hip-Hop Weekly said he was shot in an arm, and his back was grazed by a bullet.
He was listed in good condition, a spokeswoman for South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth said Sunday morning.
The magazine said Benzino was in the area to bury his mother. He was heading to a church in Plymouth at the time of the shooting, the District Attorney's Office said.
Police responding to the scene found the red SUV in the middle of Route 3 with bullet holes and a reddish brown substance believe to be blood inside the vehicle. Officials said shell casings and projectiles also were found at the scene.
Gai Scott, of Randolph, Mass., was taken into custody and charged with assault with intent to murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in the Plymouth District Court.
The "Love & Hip Hop" series is known for its over-the-top drama and fights — making it a ratings success, but also a target for criticism. The fourth season of the show's New York series ended in January. The third season of the Atlanta spinoff debuts in May.
Benzino is a former co-owner of The Source magazine. In its prime, The Source was the pre-eminent magazine for rap, and it helped fuel the rise of urban magazines such as XXL and Vibe.
Benzino left the publication in 2006 and later launched Hip-Hop Weekly, which chronicles the lives of urban music stars.
