Robin Thicke Tries to Woo Wife Back With Billboard Music Awards Performance - Yahoo Music (blog)

Back in February, days after his separation from wife Paula Patton was announced, Robin Thicke dedicated his hit "Lost Without U" to Patton during a concert in Virginia. "For those of you who don't know, my wife and I got separated a few days ago, and I want everybody here to know that I'm trying to get my girl back," he said.

And apparently Thicke has not given up hope of wooing back his estranged wife. At the Billboard Music Awards this Sunday, he debuted a new ballad called "Get Her Back," crooning: "I never should have raised my voice or made you feel so small/I never should have asked you to do anything at all/I should have kissed you longer/I should have held you stronger."

Later, he continued: "I don't know what I was thinking letting you go/I miss you/I just want you to come back home/I don't know what to do in the morning without you."

While Thicke never mentioned his wife by name, he did implore the audience, "Y'all have to help me get her back," asking them to clap along. Earlier in the night, he did openly acknowledge Patton when accepting his Billboard Music Award for Top R&B Song for his hit "Blurred Lines," saying: "Most importantly, I'd like to thank my wife for her love and support, and for putting up with me all these years."

It remains to be seen if this latest stunt will persuade Patton to give Thicke another chance. Although his lyrics were remorseful, he sounded almost giddy as he sang. However, while Thicke delivered "Get Her Back" with a grin, it seemed that he sincerely was pleading for another chance.

Thicke, 37, and Patton, 38, began dating when they were teenagers and were married in 2005.
