Sting To WWE: 10 Reasons His Deal Is A Mistake For All Involved - WhatCulture!

Sting signing with WWE has been a long running story in the first six months of 2014. The WCW legend left TNA in January, with a WWE deal widely expected to get done for an appearance at WrestleMania 30. Next came rumours that Sting would come in on the Network Launch Raw in February, a way of selling WCW nostalgia on the Network. That didn’t happen, but it remained widely accepted that Sting’s WWE debut was just a matter of time, with the deal being reported as all but done.

It didn’t prove the case. WrestleMania 30 came and went without so much as a hint of the Stinger. That led some fans to speculate he would be this year’s big angle for the post-Mania Raw. Previous years had seen The Rock vs Cena being set, Brock Lesnar’s return and Dolph Ziggler’s cash in. Would this year be Sting’s moment? No, Raw vanished without much incident this year, Sting’s “imminent” debut suddenly felt a long way off.

Then we got what might of been an indication that a deal was done on the quiet. Sting took part in the WWE produced tribute to Ultimate Warrior on WWE Network. However, Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer has since reported that was a one off gig, the Sting deal is still unsigned and there’s no expectation for it to get resolved soon.

Despite the deal being put on the back burner, it’s still on the table, you have to imagine it will get done with WrestleMania 31 in mind. That is unless either party is having second thoughts, indeed, there’s more than a few reasons for both WWE and Sting why this deal could be a mistake. Let’s take a look at why Sting to WWE may not be the great move everyone thought it was.
