As the captain of the United States national soccer team, Clint Dempsey is known for having the golden scoring touch, but off the field the striker has scored something even more noteworthy – his smart and stunning wife Bethany.
During the World Cup, Clint Dempsey, 31, has grabbed headlines by playing with a broken nose, scoring the fifth-fastest goal in World Cup history (29 seconds into a game against Ghana) and busting out clutch moves in the US match against Portugal. However, it’s Clint’s hot better half, Bethany Keegan Dempsey, who has drawn the appreciation of fans everywhere.
Clint Dempsey’s World Cup Wife
In 2010 Bethany even posed for Sports Illustrated’s famous swimsuit issue wearing nothing more than body paint and a smile. She told the mag, “You don’t feel naked, because you look in the mirror and it looks like you are wearing a swimsuit. The detailing is amazing!” We think the mom’s fit physique is just as awe-inspiring!
But she’s not just another hot WAG. Bethany definitely has the brains to match her remarkable beauty — she holds a masters degree and is an educational psychologist.
Clint & Bethany Dempsey: A Perfect Match
The sweethearts, who originally met at Greenville, South Carolina’s Furman University, wed after a year of dating in July 2007. The Seattle Sounders FC forward who is originally from Nacogdoches, Texas and wife (who hails from North Carolina) are blessed with three children, daughters Elyse and Sophia and a son, Jackson.
After playing for England’s Tottenham Hotspur, Clint recently returned to the U.S. where he signed a $33 million multi-year contract with the Seattle Sounders FC. Just don’t think the soccer star, who grew up in a trailer park, is letting fame and fortune — and his foxy missus — get to his head.
The grounded family man plans on kicking back with Bethany and just enjoying life, he told SI. “We’re living near Lake Washington. Just going to rent a place there with my wife and the kids. I’m looking forward to doing some fishing, maybe getting into fly fishing and doing more outdoor stuff… I also wanted to raise my kids in the States with the same kind of upbringing I had. You know, tee-ball and flag football and soccer. So I’m excited about that.”
