FRENCH KISSES FOR HER BIRTHDAY?
While the rest of us will be celebrating the birth of America, Khloe Kardashian will be celebrating the birth of, well, her. The reality star, who turned 30 on Friday, will be hosting her birthday party at Tao in Las Vegas on July 4. “(Her new boyfriend) French Montana is going to be with her,” an insider told Confidenti@l, “but I’m not sure if any of the other family members are going.” Khloe also celebrated early, with a dinner at Don Coqui restaurant on City Island, where French also was spotted.
HE’S A BELIEVER
Maybe all those years producing special effects-laden blockbusters has rubbed off on Jerry Bruckheimer, because apparently he believes in the supernatural. “It happens to people so it must be out there,” Bruckheimer told us at the premiere of his new film “Deliver Us From Evil,” which is about an NYPD cop who witnessed exorcisms. “It’s a true story, that’s why I got involved,” Bruckheimer told us. Still, he said, “I don’t think it’s entertaining for the people who think they are possessed.”
HOOPS-DE-DOO
Street basketball is going to one of the NBA’s biggest stages. The organizers of the Entertainment Basketball Classic — a long-running Harlem tournament — are putting on a special celebrity mini-competition at the Barclays Center. The America Celebrity Basketball Challenge will feature a playoff between three teams coached by rappers Wale, Fabolous and Big Sean with a fourth team headed up by yet-to-be-confirmed star. Each of the teams will also have a handful of NBA stars on the roster, but the organizers are keeping their identities under wraps for now.
ROM-COMMERS ‘TOGETHER’
They Came Together alright. Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler were among the first to arrive and last to leave a party celebrating their new film “They Came Together” in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. “They kept trying to make their way through the bar to exit, but separately kept stopping at points along the way to say hello, getting caught up in conversation with other partygoers,” said one insider at The Black Velvet Whisky sponsored bash. Rudd and Poehler’s “Wet Hot American Summer” alums David Wain and Zak Orth were also there.
IF YOU KNEW SUSHI...
A Park Avenue sushi standard has danced its last samba. Former Police Commissioner Ray Kelly joined revelers at SushiSamba Park for a goodbye party celebrating 15 years of food, fish and fun in Gramercy Park. The place officially closes at the end of this month. “Samba dancers and drummers entertained passersby with performances on the sidewalk,” said one attendee who also took in the music stylings of DJ Mia Moretti.
‘GHOST’ OF A CHANCE
It may seem like Tony Goldwyn is having his big moment right now thanks to playing the President on “Scandal,” but he’s actually been around far longer. “I remember 20 years ago when I was in ‘Ghost,’ it was this huge hit movie,” Goldwyn told us at the New York premiere of We’s new legal drama “The Divide.” “It’s this weird, cyclical thing when you have a moment, lightning in a bottle.” As for those sex scenes, Goldwyn says his family — in particular his daughters — “are used to it by now.”
