Charles Manson, who was sentenced to prison for life in 1972 after orchestrating the murders of seven people, most famously including actress Sharon Tate, has reportedly been paroled in California.
Charles Manson, 79, was imprisoned for life in 1972 for conspiracy to commit seven murders which were doled out by his disciples in the so-called Manson family — a commune of around 30 people at the time of the murders who thought Charles to be their leader in the fight of an upcoming apocalyptic race war. Though Charles’ parole was denied for the 12th time in 2012, a new report claims that the dangerous murderer was granted parole — could it be a hoax?
Charles Manson: Parole Granted? — Nope, It’s A Hoax
Yep.
Yeah, it’s a hoax, and it’s got your great aunt on Facebook up in arms — it’s trending everywhere.
This article from Empire News, a satirical news website, wrote that, “According to California Board of Parole Hearings Commissioner John Peck, prison overcrowding forced the prison board to re-evaluate prisoners that are elderly or those with serious illnesses.
“‘He is 79 years old and in poor health,’ said Commissioner Peck. ‘We know it’s not going to be a popular decision but, considering our other options he’s the least threat.’”
Empire News, Satirical News Website, Gets People Up In Arms Over Article Claiming Charles Manson Paroled
Empire News, like The Daily Currant and the Canadian La Lapine and The Beaverton, wishes it was The Onion. Let’s be real. The thing about this Empire News article is that, firstly, it’s not even funny or clever; I’m mainly just annoyed that it’s not even a funny joke. It offends me as a comedian. Second, there are way too many satirical news websites out there. I recognize, appreciate, and respect everyone’s individual hustles, but it’s been done!
How many times have you posted an Onion article on Facebook and your older third cousin, twice removed, replies with a million comments about how Millennials, liberals, and liberal Millennial are ruining the planet, totally misunderstanding the satire?
Furthermore, Charles Manson’s crimes were not a joke. He committed truly horrifying crimes and has never shown any remorse, and he deserves his life in prison. Making light of his release isn’t just unfunny, it’s shameful.
The madness must end! No more online satirical news until The Onion closes its doors! Who’s with me?! What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you agree? Are you offended by them making light of something so serious?
