The Sochi Olympics have brought a wealth of new athletic experiences to TODAY, from skating lessons to fishing trips in the Black Sea, and now the time has finally came to pit their athletic prowess against one another — in a tennis showdown.
Let's just say there wasn't much athletic prowess to be seen.
One would think team TODAY, composed of Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager, would be significantly outmatched by former Olympians Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski. Turns out experience on the ice doesn't exactly translate to talent on the court.
"We may not be gifted tennis players like Maria Sharapova, but we are scrappy," Weir said.
But the Olympic veterans did have one aspect of competition down pat — some pre-game stretching.

Once stretching was out of the way, it was time to get down to business.

Points were hard to come by, but when they did score, each team had its own way of celebrating. Savannah was conservative with her celebrations, opting for a reserved fist pump.

Johnny, on the other hand, was a bit more excited in his displays of victory.

All the while, Jenna had trouble playing it cool when it came to masking her missteps on the court.
"I'm breaking under pressure!" she yelled.

In the end, everyone was a winner. (Kinda.)
