Kings guard Jimmer Fredette shoots the lights out at the Garden recently but doesn't play much and will likely be waived. Could the Glens Falls native return to the Empire State?
Two years after "Lin-sanity," could the Knicks reboot with "Jim-sanity"?
With point guard Raymond Felton's current legal woes, Beno Udrih's buyout by the Knicks, and point guard Jimmer Fredette reportedly on his way out of Sacramento, is there a perfect storm brewing that would bring the former Brigham Young star to Gotham?

Fredette's father, Al, says he and his family can only hope so.
"Well, it's a lot closer than Sacramento," Al Fredette told the Daily News with a laugh, referring to the distance between the Fredette's Glens Falls, N.Y. home and Madison Square Garden. "I just went out to see him with my other son, and the weather delayed us going out, and then we drove up (to Sacramento) and the weather was a factor for that, so we lost a lot of time overall. It would be great. Every competitive athlete, all they want is a chance to play more, have more minutes, so that's what we're hoping for, and what Jimmer is hoping for."

Fredette (who turns 25 Tuesday) is averaging just 5.9 points per game this season, and hasn't played significant minutes, after a standout four years at BYU. He was drafted by the Bucks, who selected Fredette with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft, but he was later traded to the Kings in a deal that involved the Bobcats and included Udrih.
The Kings are mired at the bottom of the Western Conference standings (20-36), and "Jimmermania" has died down significantly from Fredette's early Sacramento career.
Now his father is hoping he can get a new opportunity, perhaps even playing in the World's Most Famous Arena, although it's unlikely that Felton would be suspended by the NBA after his arrest on felony weapons charges.
"All I know, Jimmer hasn't been waived yet. Somebody told me he had to be waived by Friday to be eligible for the playoffs," said Al Fredette. "We've heard that four or five teams are interested, including the Knicks, but to what degree, I'm not sure. It would be good for Jimmer (to land with another team), and get more minutes. Agents take care of those things, so I guess we'll find out."
