College football scores: Auburn thrills, USC stuns; Top 25 analysis - SportingNews.com

After a day of wild finishes and fantastic plays, we finally have our first big upset, thanks to Ed Orgeron and the USC Trojans. A field goal in the final minute provided the winning points and Stanford now is no longer a BCS championship contender. Catch up on this game and the rest of the action on Sporting News' live scoreboard.

We saw Auburn set up a monster Iron Bowl by beating Georgia on a miracle 4th-and-18 play that went 73 yards for a touchdown off a tipped pass, Michigan State all but wrap up the Big Ten Legends Division title by beating Nebraska on the road, and Duke took a big step toward winning the ACC Coastal Division title by beating Miami.

What a day. What a night. What a country. Let's get to all the action.

Week 12 photos | Cheerleaders | 2013 upsets | Heisman Watch | Road to the Bowls

No. 1 Alabama 20, Mississippi State 7 (recap): You can bet Nick Saban didn't leap into AJ McCarron's arms after this one. The top-ranked Tide won at Starkville, but were flat in doing so. SN's Matt Hayes wrote that Auburn's late effort vs. Georgia won't cut it against Alabama in two weeks, but the Tide's effort won't cut it against the Tigers, either.

No. 2 Florida State 59, Syracuse 3 (recap): Seminoles wrapped up a perfect ACC season and will represent the Atlantic Division in the league's title game. Jameis Winston played well despite this week's news where his name came up in a sexual assault allegation.

No. 3 Ohio State 60, Illinois 35 (recap): The Buckeyes need style points to impress the BCS voters, but allowing 35 points to the Illini is not the way to do that. OSU very well could fall from the No. 3 spot in the rankings.

No. 4 Baylor 63, Texas Tech 34 (recap): The Red Raiders hung around early with some points of their own, but the Bears proved too much behind Bryce Petty's three TD tosses and two scoring runs. Baylor stays in the thick of the BCS title hunt and gets a big test next Saturday when it travels to Oklahoma State.

USC 20, No. 5 Stanford 17 (recap): Talk about turnarounds. Look at what the Trojans have done under interim coach Ed Oregeron. USC stunned the Cardinal, who derailed Oregon's BCS title hopes.

No. 6 Oregon 44, Utah 21 (recap): Ducks regroup after their loss to Stanford, but they're still just the second-best team in the Pac-12 North.

No. 7 Auburn 43, No. 25 Georgia 38 (recap): Auburn blew a 20-point lead but got a fortuitous bounce to set up a monstrous Iron Bowl. Ricardo Lewis' 73-yard TD reception off a tipped pass gives the Tigers the win. Auburn will now play Alabama for the SEC West title in two weeks.

HAYES: It was fun, but that effort won't get Auburn a 'W' against No. 1 Tide

No. 8 Clemson 55, Georgia Tech 31 (recap): Tigers have a layup vs. the Citadel before playing South Carolina in Columbia in the season finale. That should be fun.

No. 11 South Carolina 19, Florida 14 (recap): It was more difficult than expected, but the Gamecocks survived Saturday night against a determined Gators team playing with a quarterback making his first start. But a win is a win and Steve Spurrier will take it against his alma mater.

No. 12 Oklahoma State 38, No. 23 Texas 13 (recap): Cowboys' rout knocks Longhorns from ranks of unbeatens in Big 12 play. OSU took control courtesy of Justin Gilbert's INT returned for a 43-yard touchdown in the second quarter, and it never looked back. Cowboys will face Baylor next week in what could be the Big 12 title game.

No. 13 UCLA 41, Washington 31 (recap): Bruins finish with games against Arizona State and USC. Win both of those, and it wins the Pac-12 South for a second straight season.

No. 14 Michigan State 41, Nebraska 21 (recap): With this win, Spartans all but wrap up the Big Ten Legends Division title.

No. 15 UCF 39, Temple 36 (recap): The Owls were 1-8 coming in, and yet they pushed the Knights to the final minute. Rannell Hall's 64-yard reception set up Shawn Moffitt's 24-yard field goal at the buzzer. Knights still in position to earn American's BCS bid if they win their final three games.

WATCH: Did you see J.J. Worton's incredible TD catch for UCF?

No. 17 Wisconsin 51, Indiana 3 (recap): Badgers rack up 552 rushing yards and finish with games at Minnesota and at home vs. Penn State. Sounds like a 10-win season.

No. 19 Louisville 20, Houston 13 (recap): The Cardinals are in position to take the American crown should UCF somehow slip up in its final three games. Saturday's win wasn't easy though as the Cougars gave Louisville all sorts of fits.

No. 20 Northern Illinois 48, Ball State 27 (recap): Huskies still in play for a second straight BCS appearance, but they'll have to jump Fresno State in the rankings to get that chance.

No. 21 Arizona State 30, Oregon State 17 (recap): The Sun Devils maintained their lead in the Pac-12 South with a workmanlike. They're well on their way, leading 30-17 in the fourth quarter.

No. 22 Oklahoma 48, Iowa State 10 (recap): Thirty-eight unanswered points in the second half put this game pointed in the Sooners' favor. Cyclones still winless in Big 12 play. Is it time for Paul Rhodes to start worrying about his job?

Duke 48, No. 24 Miami 30 (recap): Imagine this: If the Blue Devils beat Wake Forest and North Carolina in their final two games, they will play Florida State in the ACC title game. W-O-W.
