Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan borrowed from past awards season highlights for their hilarious co-hosting turn during Sunday night's Academy of Country Music Awards.

The dynamic duo attempted to recreate Ellen DeGeneres' infamous Oscars selfie moment — except with just the two of them.

"Honestly, I think we're the biggest celebrities in the room," Shelton, 37, said.

He and Bryan, 37, joked that Jason Aldean wasn't famous enough to join their selfie and Tim McGraw was "too boring."

But the shots didn't stop there. Shelton addressed his co-host with another Oscars nod, this time to John Travolta's Idina Menzel flub. He introduced Bryan as "Bluke Lyran," which immediately became a Twitter topic for enthused viewers.

At one point Shelton and Bryan confused the audience by coming on stage dressed as Daft Punk. They donned the huge metallic helmets and black suits similar to the ones that the electronic robot duo wore to the Grammy Awards earlier this year.

"How in the hell are you supposed to get lucky in that thing, I couldn't even breathe!" Shelton joked.

Both Bryan and Shelton — who hosted together last year as well — took the stage twice throughout the night to perform their hit songs. They also both lost the Entertainer of the Year award to George Strait.
