Apple Maps did what Google Maps never could -– it found the Loch Ness Monster.
Members of the Official Loch Ness Monster Fan Club identified a shadow in the loch's waters that can be seen only in Apple Maps' satellite imagery –– the same form was not found on Google Maps.
The shadow, about 100 feet long with two “flipper-like” appendages, can only be seen on iPads and iPhones, according to The Huffington Post.

Many Nessie watchers have already taken to the Internet to debunk the theory. Some, like the Daily Dot, argue that the mysterious figure is actually an outline of a boat and its wake, since companies that provide satellite imaging services often delete identifying information like the pictures of boats themselves.
The club’s president, however, is convinced it is the monster. "It looks like a boat wake, but the boat is missing,” he told the Daily Mail. “Whatever this is, it is under the water and heading south, so unless there have been secret submarine trials going on in the loch, the size of the object would make it likely to be Nessie.”
The two original spotters stand by their story as well. "The first thing that came into my head when I saw it was, 'That’s the Loch Ness Monster,'" Andrew Dixon said in the Daily Mail. "It was the shape of it, I thought it had to be something more than a shadow."
Either Apple Maps did uncover the Loch Ness Monster at last... or it’s trying to outshine people still searching for Pokemon on Google Maps.
